Erin Kay is an up and coming artist that takes her creativity in many thoughtful directions. Her talents include sculptures, art installations, oil painting, encaustic painting as well as photography.
At Oregon State University, she pursued an artistic education, focusing her efforts on sculpture and printmaking. There she received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree. Following this achievement, she was accepted into Pratt Institute’s Sculpture Graduate Program bringing her across the country to New York City where she immersed herself in the New York art scene.
Erin Kay’s work explores cultural and natural systems finding strange paradoxes. She states, "There are events in this world that defy our categorizations and I feel that I have to merge it all together visually. Combining opposites I feel opens our eyes to creative possibilities in common events lost to us."
Erin’s life has been influenced by an imaginative, somewhat eclectic family. Along with several inspirational teachers who has helped her see that life is one great creative endeavor. Today she is again calling Bend, Oregon her home. Young at heart as well as in life, Erin is on the forefront of the local art community and is working to establish her art and ideas globally.
